The article explains the improvements introduced on the design of the operating theatres ventilations system up to the FLV operating theatres. These two aspects (design and ventilation) are considered key factors in the control of infection in the operating room. The laminar flow technology helps to reduce the micro-organism concentration that is present in the operating room air.
