18/06/2007Telstar & Applied Containment Engineering (ACE) join their forces

In recent years, the Telstar Group has undergone rapid growth thanks to a combination of corporate development and takeovers such as on 1 June 2007, when Telstar and ACE signed an agreement through which the British company would become part of the Telstar Group.

ACE is a leading company in the design, manufacture and marketing of biological containment systems and sterile isolators for the pharmaceutical industry. Established in 1993, it has reached a leading position in the containment industry, not only in the English-speaking market, but also worldwide. Its head offices are located in Dewsbury, England, but it also has a subsidiary in the United States. With around 30 employees, ACE reported income of 5 million euro in 2006.

The portfolio of customers acquired through this agreement includes leading international pharmaceutical companies, although the company's business focuses mainly on the United Kingdom, Ireland, United States and Singapore.

According to Jordi Puig, Managing Director of Telstar Industrial, the recent takeover of ACE will be of considerable advantage to the Telstar Group, consolidating its position in the industry of biological containment systems as well as in the powerful English-speaking markets. With this takeover, Telstar has gained ground against its competitors, obtaining a complete range of products in the containment sector.

Les Tyas, founder and Managing Director of ACE, praised the advantages his company will obtain after being taken over by the Telstar Group, since considerable synergy exists between the two businesses which will ensure their successful joint development.

With this takeover, Telstar is making a strong, firm commitment to the containment sector, with great expectations which, in line with the group's skyrocketing history, will surely convert to commercial success.
