27/05/2009Telstar will have new facilities operating in 2010

Telstar Life Sciences will transfer the development and production of high technology equipment to the new HQ facilities of Can Petit.

In September of 2008 the construction of the new corporate headquarters of Telstar was initiated in the industrial park of Can Petit in Terrassa. This head office will accommodate within its innovative layout, the corporate and commercial services, the customer service, purchasing, administration, engineering and R & D departments and the clean assembly and test operations for equipment related to the Life and Health Sciences sector.

The modern installations will provide space which is 16 meters (52.5 feet) in height for the final process of freeze drying production, enabling the assembly, test and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) of equipment of any type of configuration, be it horizontal and vertical.

The facilities of Telstar Life Sciences of Can Petit will be comprised of a single building having a total of 8,947 m2 (96,000 sq ft) total constructed space, 4165 m2 (44,750 sq ft) of which will be allocated to workshops and stores. The block of offices of 3782 m2 (40,650 sq ft) will be shared by the different departments and a space will be available for a Show Room containing laboratory equipment which will be used for training and demonstration sessions for internal personnel and the distribution network. The building will also house an R & D laboratory which is fully equipped for the development and the optimization of new processes and recipes, for users and clients of freeze drying technology.

Completion of construction is anticipated for the beginning of 2010. The new corporate headquarters and factory marks the final step of the process of organization restructuring and brand consolidation and exemplifies Telstar's philosophy of high technology and client focus.
